Embark on a 7-day route through the Ebro Delta, exploring its stunning landscapes, wildlife, and rich cultural heritage.
Tour Details
THE EXPERIENCE
This tour reveals every shade of gravel in the Terres de l’Ebre: landscapes that feel worlds apart, yet gathered in one place.
You’ll find rolling tracks between vineyards and olive groves, trails by the sea and the river, places on the verge of becoming desert, testing passes, and tunnels blackened by the smoke of an old train.
It’s also about connecting with the land: you’ll stop to watch flamingos in flight, greet a farmer in a language you don’t speak, breathe in the aroma of exceptional wines while visiting modernist wineries, embrace a thousand‐year‐old olive tree, taste an unknown yet delicious dish, and look up at a star‐filled sky before you sleep.
Before you leave, you’ll already want to come back.

Day 1
Overview
Your adventure begins with our private transfer to the heart of the Matarraña, the region known as the «Spanish Tuscany.» In Valderrobres, you will feel time stand still among olive groves and rolling hills. Once you are settled in your hotel, we will head out for a gentle shakedown ride to wake up the legs.
You will cross its medieval stone bridge under the imposing gaze of its 14th-century castle. The cobbled streets will guide you back to enjoy a welcome dinner based on local produce, toasting with regional wine to the kilometers and stories that lie ahead.

Overview
A demanding and spectacular day through the heart of the Matarraña. From Valderrobres, you will pedal toward the turquoise waters of the Pena reservoir. The terrain will test you, offering views of the rocky silhouettes of Peñarroya de Tastavins.
You will discover the ruins of a mystic sanctuary before reaching the elegant town of La Fresneda. Gliding along the Vía Verde del Matarraña, crossing viaducts and tunnels, the trail will guide you, constantly surrounded by vineyards. The stage culminates in Horta de Sant Joan, the enclave that captivated Picasso and transformed his art forever.

Day 3
Overview
You will head deep into the Terra Alta, a land of arid contrasts and untamed character. You will ride toward the striking troglodyte hermitage of Sant Pau, where the landscape becomes fascinatingly desert-like. It is a demanding stage that immerses you in the raw beauty of seemingly endless horizons.
You will reach spectacular views of the Ebro River from the heights. The route takes on an overwhelming historical weight as you ride through the ruins of the Poble Vell of Corbera d’Ebre, a visual testament to the Spanish Civil War.
The day wraps up in Gandesa, from where we will transfer you back to Horta de Sant Joan to enjoy the post-ride activity and get some rest.

Day 4
Overview
The route takes you out of Horta heading toward Gandesa. The route becomes both demanding and fascinating as you descend into the gorge of a hidden sanctuary tucked between limestone walls and thermal waters. It is a technical and vibrant stretch of gravel that connects you with the geological raw power and mysticism of the Ebro Valley.
You will pass through Pinell de Brai to admire its modernist «Cathedral of Wine,» while the vineyards give way to a more lush river landscape. Every kilometer will bring you closer to the majestic silhouette of a castle guarding the river from above.
The day concludes in Miravet, navigating its narrow streets and its iconic river pier. You will enjoy the Activitat in a historically rich setting. It is a gravel stage that fuses monumental architecture with the fierceness of the Ebro landscape.

You will climb the Coll de Cardó, surrounded by the cliffs of an ancient 17th-century monastery. Following that, in a thrilling transition, you will bid farewell to the verticality of the mountains to greet the sea breeze.
Upon reaching L’Ampolla, the elevation completely disappears. As you skirt the sea, you will see its iconic lighthouse emerging like a mirage. The route winds through vast rice paddies and endless water reflections until reaching Deltebre.
In this setting of golden light, the Activitat will be your reward for having crossed an entire world in a single day. It is the perfect finale to a day of absolute contrasts, where you will go from touching the sky to literally riding at sea level.

Day 6
Overview
Today, the terrain surrenders to the immensity of the Delta in a fast-rolling and visually intense stage. You will hug the coastline, where birdwatching is constant under the Mediterranean light. You will wave to the flamingos before showing off your proud cycling tan lines in the picturesque Poblenou del Delta.
We will conquer a small viewpoint to see, from above, the perfect outline formed by the sea and the land. On the way to Amposta, you will pass by a freshwater oasis that appears like a miracle.
The final stretch will lead you to the noble city of Tortosa. There, among palaces and ancient walls, you will enjoy the Activitat as you return to civilization in grand style. It is the ideal close to a sensory day, where the peace of nature reserves and architectural heritage blend in perfect harmony.
